Financial Analyst
The Investment Banking Department of Raymond James is seeking qualified candidates for its three-year Financial Analyst Program. Candidates for this position should possess excellent analytical skills and demonstrate outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement. Strong communication skills are important as analysts work closely with clients and investment bankers in various capacities.

Financial analysts at Raymond James play an integral role in the department’s activities and are given a high level of responsibility as a member of a specific industry-focused team. Responsibilities include formulating new business proposals, developing company forecasts and valuations, evaluating merger and acquisition scenarios, and preparing documents related to the public issuance of common stock. As analysts gain experience, they are expected to work on every aspect of the transaction process, including participation in drafting sessions, new business proposals and due diligence meetings.

Research Associate

Raymond James offers promising undergraduates the opportunity to work directly with senior research analysts in a top-rated Equity Research Department. Research Associates perform a variety of tasks, such as: working with analysts in specific industry groups and assisting in the preparation of both industry and company reports; communicating the Research Department’s investment conclusions to the traders, sales force, and investors; interacting with the management of companies being researched; speaking with industry contacts; and assisting analysts in the evaluation of initial public offerings and secondary equity offerings.

Candidates should possess strong analytical and writing skills along with a solid record of academic achievement. Other necessary attributes include excellent oral and written communication skills, and familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software. This position affords a unique perspective of the investment industry, exposing associates not only to research, but also to sales, trading, syndication and investment banking.

Syndicate Analyst
The Syndicate Analyst position offers an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of equity public offerings and the equity markets, while working closely with Investment Banking, Research, Institutional Sales and Trading. Responsibilities include evaluating and preparing documents throughout the managed equity offering process (pre-filing to post-offering), compiling data and preparing effective presentations for corporate clients, and formulating strategies to address retail and corporate client’s needs. The position is not limited to a specific industry group and therefore, analysts gain exposure to each of the investment banking/research sectors. In addition to Syndicate responsibilities, analysts are often involved in the development and implementation of numerous projects outside of the department. The Syndicate Analyst position is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to obtain the experience needed to enter a top-ranked M.B.A. program or another higher education program. Successful candidates for this position are individuals who possess a proven ability to work in a fast paced, open environment and who possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
